Hunter W. Carroll - President




Hunter W. Carroll is a shareholder in the law firm of Matthews Eastmoore.  Hunter focuses his practice in the areas of business litigation, government, and appellate law.  He has litigated numerous complex business matters.


A seventh-generation Floridian, Hunter was born and raised in Sarasota.  He received his law degree, with honors, in 2000 from the University of Florida College of Law, where he also received the Book Award in Florida Constitutional Law.  Known as a "Double Gator," Hunter received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with honors, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with honors, in 1997, from the University of Florida where he graduated as the Outstanding Male Leader.  For two years after law school, Hunter had the privilege to serve as staff attorney to Justice Charles T. Wells, then Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court.


Hunter is a product of Sarasota's public school system, having attended Wilkinson Elementary, Pine View School, and Sarasota High School, where he graduated as valedictorian.  Hunter continues to volunteer his time with Teen Court of Sarasota, Inc., a diversionary program for youthful offenders, which he has done since 1989.  Last year, Hunter served as Teen Court's president.  He has also served as Treasurer of the Judge John M. Scheb Inn of Court.  Previously, Hunter served as editor of the SCBA's publication, The Docket.  He has also served on the Statewide Board of Governors for the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar.
