Retired   $50.00     An individual who either is (1) “Inactive” or “Retired” from The Florida Bar pursuant to Rules Regulating The Florida Bar 1-3.2(c) or Rule 1-3.5, and at the time of electing such status, was an Active SCBA or Judicial Branch member; OR (2) not a member of The Florida Bar, was a member of the bar of one or more foreign jurisdictions, has retired in good standing from the active practice of law in each of those foreign jurisdictions, and maintains his or her permanent legal residence within the 12th Judicial Circuit or Charlotte County, Florida.
           

Retired - Enhanced Directory Listing

  $85.00     Retired member who would like an enhanced directory listing which is visible to the public. Enhanced listing will include Practice Areas, Certifications, Languages Spoken, Sections and Divisions Membership, and more.

Legal Aid
  $0.00     The SCBA waives annual dues for attorneys who are employed by Legal Aid of Manasota or Gulfcoast Legal Services, Inc. and who otherwise meet membership criteria.
           
Legal Aid - Enhanced Directory Listing   $35.00     Legal Aid member who would like an enhanced directory listing which is visible to the public. Enhanced listing will include Practice Areas, Certifications, Languages Spoken, Sections and Divisions Membership, and more.

Student   $25.00     An individual who either is (1) enrolled and currently attending law school; OR (2) a law school graduate actively seeking admission to The Florida Bar and graduated within the last two (2) years. (Student membership terminates upon admission to The Florida Bar.)

 

Membership dues are due September 1 of each year. Unpaid dues are deemed late on October 1, and unpaid dues are deemed delinquent on November 1 or such later date as prescribed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is authorized to impose late fees related to late dues as well as delinquent dues. The Board of Directors may restrict membership privilege for any member whose dues are late or delinquent. The Board of Directors retains discretion to grant hardship requests relating to dues relate to any member. Dues shall be payable as long as a member remains a member for the period of September 1 through August 31 of each year, but one-half of one-year's dues may be charged to a member whose application was approved after February 28 of the initial year. Dues shall be levied by the Treasurer with the assistance of the Executive Director. Failure to pay dues prior to January 1 (or such later period provided by the Board of Directors) of a membership years and after reasonable written notice to the member is grounds for termination of membership by the Board of Directors, as specified in Article II.
