Legal Assistant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or its equivalent and 1+ years of legal secretarial experience. Workers’ compensation/insurance defense experience highly preferred. Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task.  Position will require large amounts of transcription.

SCHEDULE:  Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.        

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Specialized clerical work performing typing, filing and general legal secretarial duties.  Transcribes correspondence and various types of legal documents from dictating equipment.  Maintains electronic and paper calendars for assigned attorneys including scheduling of legal events such as court dates, hearings, depositions, mediations, etc. with courts and other involved parties.  Data input of attorney time entries for billing statements.  Uses computer programs and document management systems and takes advantage of new technology to enhance job performance. Organizes and maintains case files.  Maintains positive “success for all” team relations.

Civil Litigation Paralegal

An established Sarasota civil trial law firm has an immediate opening for a Civil Litigation Paralegal.  The duties will include case work up through and including trial.


 MUST HAVE a minimum of two (2) years of relevant civil litigation experience.

Must be familiar with current Florida rules of civil procedure .
Able to work independently or as part of a team on discovery, document review, case management, file organization, investigations, research and trial support.

Excellent analytical, written and phone communication skills. 
The ability to multi-task effectively.

Proficiency in WordPerfect, Microsoft Office and e-filing.


Salary commensurate with experience
